Wizkid – Ojuelegba Video Review

in: Wizkid

I have been unable to continue writing reviews since a little over  a week ago as a result of a little health problem. I am alright now, fit to continue on my little adventure of writing music reviews.

Last year when this video was released, I listed to it’s audio repeatedly over and over again. I just couldn’t get enough of it when I was in the mood. How time flies – it’s another ember period now and I will surely start reviewing more recent videos.

This video was shot by Clarence Peter of Capital Dreams Pictures. I will now proceed to the next stage of this post – First impression.

First Impression

When I heard the news on Nairaland about Wizkids new video then, I immediately went to YouTube to watch it. Well, it wasn’t all a disappointment from the very first few scenes I saw Wizkid walking down the to board a bus. The first thing that caught my attention was the filter, the filter didn’t quite match the atmosphere of the environment, it made the video look dull.

Story Review

If you have ever been to Lagos in Nigeria and familiar with its towns, you will know the ghettos can be turned into a world of art when you handle a video camera, and that is what Clarence has done. People living in Lagos can relate more to this.

This video is showing Wizkid illustrating how the guys in Ojuelegba (one of the famous ghettos in Lagos) do their hustles, precisely how he did his before eventually blowing and becoming a superstar. In Yoruba mixed with English language, he says he is still thankful to God even in his condition.

Video Quality

The video is in HD quality; it also has other variations of quality. The filter template applied to the makes the video looks very dull and we know to his fans this video is so good. I’m not a fan of Wizkid though, and I have no sentiment when reviewing videos.

The cameraman positions a good, but the video angle targeting is poor.  There are no special effect, which if added would make the video look even worse.

You would know a video that is interesting just by reading the review, more like a phone review thing. This video is not interesting.

Act

There is nothing special, there are no dancers, no models – nothing. Although he managed to pull this video off with a little crew. There a few scenes that do not match with what the video is talking about, and for this reasons, I hereby rate this video 4.4 out of 10.
